By trusting us with the shots, you’re free to put your phone away and lose yourself in the experience, confident that we’re capturing the magic for you.
What is your approach?
With backgrounds in documentary and commercial photography, we adapt quickly to each group’s dynamic—working quietly in the background or engaging more actively when the moment calls for it.
Who is Figure 8 best suited for?
Figure 8 is designed for guests who value presence, privacy, and storytelling. Our clients want to experience their time fully—without phones in hand—while trusting a professional team to document their moments with discretion and care.
What locations do you service?
We operate throughout the Whistler area (excluding on-hill ski photography at this time). From heli-skiing and snowmobiling to snowshoeing and off-mountain experiences, we accompany you to capture both the big moments and the quiet in-betweens.
Do you travel outside of Whistler?
Yes. While Whistler is our primary base, destination travel is available for select projects. Travel details and logistics are discussed during consultation.
Booking & Planning
How do I book a session or consultation?
You can request a booking through your hotel concierge or directly via our contact form. We begin with a complimentary consultation to understand your vision, timeline, and preferences before confirming details.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking as early as possible, particularly during peak travel seasons, as availability is limited.
Do you provide guidance on creative details, flow, and locations?
Yes. We offer thoughtful guidance on creative details, pacing, and locations that align with your vision. Each booking includes a custom shoot strategy designed to maximize imagery while preserving the natural rhythm of your day.
Will you work alongside guides, operators, or hotel staff?
Yes. We regularly collaborate with hotel concierge teams, guides, and experience operators to ensure seamless integration into your itinerary without disrupting the flow of the experience.
During the Experience
What should I expect from the process?
Our process is seamless and concierge-level:
Inquiry → Consultation → Customized itinerary → Shoot day(s) → Image delivery within 48 hours → Custom photo album delivered to your home. We prioritize clarity and care at every stage so you can remain fully present.
What does a “full day” mean?
A typical day lasts 8-10hrs. During our consultation we work with you to decide how you would like to capture the day, big and small moments, from morning coffee to drinks at apres. We document whichever moments matter most to you.
What is a typical day like on a heli-ski trip?
From early-morning anticipation to heli rides, powder runs, and lodge moments, we capture both the exhilaration and the quieter connections that define the experience.
Can you remain discreet or largely unseen during the experience?
Absolutely. Our presence is intentionally low-profile. We work quietly in the background so your experience feels uninterrupted and authentic. This can be discussed during your consultation.
What happens if my itinerary changes during the day?
We understand that luxury travel is dynamic. Our approach is flexible, and we adapt in real time whenever possible to ensure meaningful moments are captured as plans evolve.
Do you photograph families and children?
Yes. We frequently work with families and are experienced in photographing children in a natural, unobtrusive way that allows moments to unfold organically.
Deliverables & Creative Direction
How many images will I receive?
We guarantee a minimum of 50 images per day. Guests can expect a thoughtfully curated gallery of professionally edited images that tell the full story of their experience.
How long until I receive my images?
Within 48 hours. All images are professionally edited and delivered in high resolution via a private digital gallery.
What format are the delivered files?
You’ll receive high-resolution digital files suitable for both print and web, along with any requested formats such as social-optimized images.
Can I request specific retouching or artistic style?
Absolutely. Retouching preferences and aesthetic direction are discussed during your consultation to ensure the final imagery aligns with your personal taste and intended use.
Is videography available as a standalone service or add-on?
Videography is available as an add-on or as part of a custom proposal. We’ll discuss your storytelling goals during consultation to determine the best approach.
Pricing, Products & Use
How much does a session cost?
The Figure 8 experience begins at $8,000 CAD for a full day of private photography. After your consultation, we provide a tailored proposal based on your specific needs.
Can you handle multi-day shoots?
Yes. From multi-day Whistler stays to extended editorial or lifestyle coverage, we create custom proposals. Multi-day pricing is available.
Do you offer prints or luxury photo products?
Yes. We offer archival-quality prints, custom framing, and premium photo albums to elevate your experience beyond the digital gallery.
Do you offer gift certificates or session credits?
Yes. Gift certificates and session credits are available and make exceptional gifts for special occasions or corporate hospitality.
Can images be used for corporate or brand purposes?
Commercial or corporate usage can be accommodated and discussed during consultation. Please let us know if images will be used beyond personal use.
Payment, Privacy & Policies
How is payment handled?
If booking through your hotel concierge, charges will be billed directly to your folio. Direct bookings can be paid securely online through our payment gateway.
What is your cancellation policy?
We offer full refunds (100%) for cancellations made at least one (1) week in advance. Cancellations within three (3) days receive a 50% refund. If weather conditions require cancellation, a full refund (100%) is provided.
Who owns the copyright of the images?
Copyright and usage rights are clearly outlined in your agreement. Figure 8 retains copyright, and images are never used publicly without your explicit written permission.
How do you handle privacy and confidentiality?
Privacy is paramount. Your images are never shared without written consent. We protect all personal and proprietary information and operate with the highest level of discretion and professionalism.
